Tip #4: Lift with Your Legs

While not all occupations require heavy exercise, most involve some element of reaching, twisting, and lifting to some extent. Therefore, it’s important to employ good body mechanics. For instance, lifting a box of paper off of the ground, even though it may be light, requires you to squat down and use your legs, rather than bending at the waist and using your back.

Tip #5: Set up Your Workstation for Success

No matter what your job consists of, you can often make your workstation work better for you. For instance, if you work at a computer, you’ll want to arrange your desk so that you don’t have to reach very far or perform other injurious movements throughout the day. As simple as it may sound, making small changes to your setup can go a long way.
