Chiropractic History

Chiropractic care has been around for quite some time, helping to create a healthier life for people all over the world. Chiropractic has been continuously improved since it’s beginning to ensure that patients get the best care possible. Here’s what you should know about the history of this holistic form of health care.

The Story of Chiropractic History

The chiropractic profession dates back to early 1895, when D.D. Palmer performed his first adjustment of the spine. Dr. BJ Palmer, Dr D.D. Palmer’s son, was responsible for developing the Philosophy and techniques of Chiropractic. He was also the first to define vertebral subluxation, which are misalignments of the spinal column that put pressure on the nerves, which can affect the body’s functions.

The daughter-in-law of Palmer, Mabel Heath Palmer, became the first female chiropractor in 1905, with her son David Palmer soon following in the family’s footsteps. Soon the Palmer School of Chiropractic was founded by BJ Palmer, which paved the way for new chiropractic professionals to learn about this unique practice. Since then, dozens of chiropractic schools have been founded all across the world.

Here at Anchor Health Chiropractic in Noblesville, Dr. Mitch Borgman and his experienced staff are all well informed on the chiropractic history. It overjoys us that chiropractic continues to gain the recognition it deserves, as it has helped so many people. As a team, we pride ourselves on being able to deliver you with the services you need to rid of your body’s aches.

Benefits of Visiting the Chiropractor Today

Over the last 120 years, the practice of chiropractic has evolved for the better, as we have continued to learn more about the human body. Still, the core concept of this form of health care has remained the same: the body is self-healing, and correcting the interference of that natural system can encourage that health.

For instance, if you were injured in a slip or fall, the misalignment will be readjusted and can help you feel like new once again. Similarly, if you have poor posture, regular visits to Dr. Mitch Borgman can help realign your spine. Everyone from pregnant women to athletes, newborns and up can benefit from this all-natural, holistic form of health care.

In fact, anyone suffering from discomfort such as headaches, back pain, neck pain or stiffness can find relief with chiropractic care. Aside from less pain, you might experience an improved mood, sleep better and have more energy due to regular chiropractic visits. At Anchor Health Chiropractic, we use gentle, advanced techniques that can alleviate pain, and improve a lifetime of wellness.

If you have a nervous system, let us analyze it to see how it is functioning. Contact Anchor Health Chiropractic today to learn more about how we can help you and your entire family.
