Why Chiropractic

At Anchor Health Chiropractic, we specialize in neurologically based chiropractic care.  Chiropractic is an all-natural form of healthcare that is based on the correction of bone misalignments in your spine. These misalignments are often the cause of deeper underlying issues such as nerve and muscle pain and, in more serious cases, cell, organ and tissue dysfunction.

Since the central nervous system is the master control system of the body, it’s especially important to maintain its health. When the spine misaligns, pressure on the spinal cord and nerves can occur. This is called a vertebral subluxation complex. Chiropractic actively works to correct subluxations by thoroughly analyzing and gently adjusting the spine. The practice enables proper central nervous system functionality and natural healing throughout the body.

What Is Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care?

Neurologically based chiropractic care operates on a model of maintaining and preserving optimal health throughout your life, not just when you are feeling symptoms.

Symptom-alleviating chiropractic care can effectively provide temporary relief, but correction can provide you with life-long benefits. The alternative is to merely covering up minor problems and symptoms while ignoring the underlying major cause(s).

Neurologically based chiropractic care works against this “sick care” model. Instead of waiting until pain has begun, Dr. Mitch Borgman recommends preventative health visits to ensure that you maintain your spinal health for years to come. After all, you wouldn’t wait until you had a cavity to start brushing your teeth! The same applies for your spinal health. You should never have to wait for injury or pain before making your first visit to Anchor Health Chiropractic.

At Anchor Health Chiropractic we specialize in detecting, analyzing, and correcting vertebral subluxation at its source to provide true relief and peak nervous system performance. Through advanced techniques and technology, we make it our primary goal to learn how to effectively maintain health for your spine and nervous system to create a happier, healthier life through neurologically based chiropractic care.

How Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care Models Work

Although many chiropractors specialize in providing temporary relief, the practice of chiropractic care was never intended to work that way. From its inception, over 110 years ago, chiropractic care was designed to be a principled form of healthcare. The objective of Neurologically Based chiropractic is to locate and identify the underlying cause(s) of one’s health concerns and correct them at their source.

This targeted form of care alleviates the underlying cause, rather than simply covering up their outward symptoms. An example of a commonly occurring problem is when one injures the small vertebral bones at the base of his or her neck through repetitive stress, friction or traumatic incidents like slip and falls. The resulting change in head posture can cause one’s ribcage to bend or shift, along with muscle groups in the lower spine and pelvis, reducing pressure on the spinal nerves. This revised posture is a relative improvement, but the imbalanced pressures remains on the vertebral discs and causes them to gradually and progressively wear out.
